Hi everyone.

This is my first post on this Forum so I hope I've picked the right location.

I'm trying to find a footprint for a Linx-LR Tx (see attachment). Does anyone know if one has been created and it's location.

Many thanks: Dave

Hi Dave,
You can create the pattern in Pattern editor. On pattern properties panel, select Type = Lines, then specify pad and line spacings 0.1" and 0.34". Make sure that you have 2 lines and 8 pins, check and edit pad sizes and pattern is ready.

Hi Alex, cracking. I now have the 'footprint' for the circuit I need, (see attachment below) :D

Another quick question. How / where do I save the new 'footprint' for future use / reference?

Again many thanks for taking the time to reply Alex.

Dave

(Oop's just realised it should be 0.34") will soon change that.

You can review video guided tour from DipTrace web site or read the DipTrace tutorial.

Save the pattern to custom library (Library/ Save as). A library file can be saved anywhere.

Hi Alex

Yes, I saved the 'footprint' to my library and I'm watching all the tutorials, slowly making progress here.

Thanks for your help.

Another question if I may, Alex - anyone.

The screenshot below shows five through hole connections for a 5 pin header. Pad 1 is for a groundplane so is fine, Pads 2-3-4-5 would obviously now be dead shorts though. So my question is this:

How do I remove the copper from the outer edge of the round pad out to edge of the highlighted square, to give a copper / solder free area.

Well I'm struggling with this one.

Below is the copper pour around my five pin header, as you can see though the circular masks for the pins are wragged and not truly circular. How can I correct this please (I've spent hours trying to figure this one).

Dave

(Jeez, it looks like I've messed my own thread up, really sorry guys.)

Right click on the pad and select "Hide pad ring in layer".

Decrease "line width" and "line spacing" parameters in copper pour properties. But don't go too far, small parameters increase copper pour complexity.
