Here is my schematic Tube labrary

sure would like to know what to do to these files once i download them. seems that the library icon is more ignorant that this company. How is it done? or is this charades?

i tried 2 hours...just to get an octal tube socket...no avail. i tried to unzip the file....it says it doesnt open files with that extension. all i want is to put an octal pcb picture on a 9 x6 copper board.and then hand trace it ...this program is nonsense...the lingo, the protocol;....who would think a pcb maker would want to go thru all that...its like could it be any more user unfriendly? i doubt it. its sadistic.

The library that was supplied is a schematic only one. So you can create schematics with tube symbols. In order to have a shape to put on a pcb you need a .lib file. Unfortunately, tubes are so outdated for most designs that PCB support is minimal. What you need to do is run the pattern editor program and create your own pattern.

Yes, I'm having the same (or similar) problem:

-> "Adobe Reader could not open "Tubes.eli" because it is either not a supported file type or because file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)

.eli is a DipTrace schematic library, not a zip file or a PDF file. Just drop it in the lib folder (it's in your DipTrace folder).

Use Windows search to look for "*.eli" to find all your diptrace .eli libraries.

You can use tell Windows to do the right thing when you click on a .eli file:

In XP:

Right click on the .eli file --> Open With --> Select the program from a list --> --> always use the selected program to open this kind of file -->Browse and select CompEdit.exe (in the DipTrace folder).

You should do the same thing with .lib files (DipTrace PCB layout libraries) but this time select PattEdit.exe.

Question for developers: Should these file extensions be associated by default?

I found this library, the uploaded the sr. Tubelab in Diyaudio forum is for eagle, he converted to DipTrace (. Eli), I hope you find it useful, includes tube pattern, resistors and capacitors.
