your OS is Windows 11 on a HP Pavilion, on a drive partition for only DT, but 32 BIT install. The 32 Bit install is suspect.

I have 5.2.0.3, - just opened 11 different components (1 MOSFET) Attached Patterns with out a problem.

Like diptrace_en64_5.2.0.2.exe... makes total sense. At a minimum, the FULL version in any announcement, query,and all posts.

My thoughts - NOT needed. Dip-trace is totally proper for SCH / PCB production. No need for STEP files.

Simple - Start NEW, configure ALL desired attributes and save as xxx. Example , 1 side, 4 layer, Smp xx - name as appropriate for later reference.
Later open desired reference file, make any entry, save with appropriate new name. Close, open saved last file.
Their is no need for DT more bloat ...

Not needed -
nonsense that requires additional SW development resources time/effort + SW bloat.
