Re: multipart component in hierarchy blocks?

Thanks for the reply. Saves me from searching. Fingers crossed because this would be a great feature.

Re: Default component fields in schematic

It is a lot of work to individually do this for each component in a library. Even after that, i noticed that the field (value in my case) does NOT turn on unless explicitly made visible. The amount of effort does not appear to be any less this way.
I would like to join in suggesting that there could ...

multipart component in hierarchy blocks?

There are some earlier mentions of this but afaik no resolution.

So the question is: it would be extremely practical to use multipart components such as quad opamps, multiple TVS diodes etc in a hierarchy model. As far as i have tried, doing so will create a new instance of the component for each ...

Pattern editor does not respect paste masking

I have created a footprint for the Tag-Connect PCB pattern with 6 surface pads for the connector pogo pins.
On an ENIG plated board i don't want these pads to have solder so i masked them in the pattern pad settings.

Whatever i do, that masking is not properly ...

Component footpront pad rotation

Yesterday i came upon a requirement i was unable to solve: a circular pattern of slot-like pads radially oriented around the center point.
The pattern editor Rotate function only does 90 degree rotations and Circular pattern feature does not rotate the pads. In the end i was not able to accomplish ...

Re: Please remove the BOM feature from Schematic Capture

For me the current BOM feature is quite OK, at least as far as updating tables are concerned.
I am sure there are lots of users that do what i do: always write the BOM to a file. I don't hand over design files to PCB manufacturers, only gerbers, BOM, PnP and possibly assembly images. A table in a ...

OK, thanks. I didn't know of this feature before, let's see how that works.

Default component fields in schematic

In the schema editor there is a menu choice to select the component marking fields (view/Part markings...). The thing is, that this is a global choice for every single component in the schema and in many cases you don't want that.
Could this same selection be made in the component editor per library ...

Schematic coordinates

Since the early stone age all technical drawings have had a set of coordinate grid references along the drawing border. So it is also with Diptrace sheets. You know, the column of letters left/right and numbers top/bottom.
The purpose of these is of course to allow indicating the positioning/routing ...

Re: a better way to draw an arc

Yep. Something like that, together with an "offset" function found in all CAD programs would do it perfectly.
That way it would be trivial to create an arc or set of connected line segments, then offset them to create a double line with regular spacing and finally connect the ends with semicircles ...
