Re: TITLEBLOCKS

To add to this discussion, I both figured out how to create a Custom Title Block, only to, later find, after using my Custom Title Block on many schematics, that my Custom Title Block was GONE ! POOF! VANISHED!! GRRR!! But, all, it turns out, was not lost. I realized all I had to do was find an earl...

Re: Non-standard Graphics Interface Gets Me Everytime!

Awesome. I took a cursory look, and one thing that seems to be missing is the ability to save my edits as a custom configuration. That would be of value when it comes time to build a new computer. That way, I could just load my custom configuration, and not have to redo the custom settings. Another ...

Copper Pour Pad Connections Ignored in Mouseover Gui Color Coding

You know how when you run your mouse pointer over a trace, all the pads, on the same net, light up either red or cyan, depending on if they are connected or not: Red for NOT connected , and Cyan for connected ? Well, I noticed that a couple of capacitors, sitting within the bounds of a Copper Pour, ...

The Locked Shape Property Edit Foot Blaster

It happened again! I right clicked on a shape , and selected Properties , then I busied my self editing the Points . After I got it all nicely the way I wanted it, I clicked OK ... " The object is locked. Please unlock it first! " Now you @#%$@##! tell me!!! Gaaahhhh! Gets me every time!!! Please! P...

Non-standard Graphics Interface Gets Me Everytime!

I bounce back and forth between Illustrator and DipTrace, and each time I do, I have to relearn my power-user moves. Very frustrating. For instance, in Dip Trace, to Zoom In, it's the Mouse Wheel. For Illustrator it's Alt-MouseWheel. Grab and Move, in Dip Trace, is Hold-Right-Mouse-Button and Drag. ...

The work around is to turn off the layer which you want to ensure no changes are actioned on.
Nice one!

Re: Locked and Loathed

Hint: After 35 years of software learning the first thing I do is always backup my work before attempting something new. There probably is a zillion things that can happen that the programmers can not anticipate, doing File/Save as takes but a second. After 40 years, same conclusion, same disciplin...

Locked and Loathed

I have a situation where, on one side of my board, is a Touch Place [implemented as a Copper Pour], along with some silkscreen. I have all these elements precisely positioned, so, I locked them [so they wouldn't be inadvertently moved]. On the other side, in the same proximity, I have a number of su...

Schematics: Multiple Replace Part...

Occasionally, I have the need to Replace multiple parts, in a Schematic. One example of this arises when I want to change a schematic, that is designed for hand-soldering SMD parts. Most of the SMD components, that I use, have two versions: one for hand soldering, and one for mechanical assembly ['c...
