Hello All,
I was wondering if there is a way to configure DipTrace to include a custom data field to the components automatically when that part is added to teh schematic?
Currently I have to go into the parts properties and add the field(s) manually each time I add a part. OR, I can wait till teh ...

Re: Is it possible to replace a ceramic capacitors with two electrolytic capacitors in this configuration?
Yes, you can certainly use non polarised electrolytics as long as you respect their voltage ratings. But WHY would you want to do this other than 470uF electrolytics are far cheaper than ceramic caps of the same value.....come to think of it, do they even make ceramics that big?

SFP parts?
Hello,
Not sure if this belongs here, or in the PCB forum so apologies up front if I posted in error.
Does Diptrace have any SFP ports in the library? I did a library search and it only came up with microcontrollers with 'SFP' in the part number.

Trying to revert back to version 3.x.x.x
Hello,
Beena while since I posted here, but I am having an issue that I am totally stuck on.
Somehow, after months of inactivity with DipTrace I started the software up this morning and it's running version 4.xx. I have a license for 3.x.x.x but I cannot afford the $$ to upgrade right now so I ...

Re: Net exisits on Schematic, removed in PCB, replaced with other net
Problem Found!
It seems that I must have connected the two nets inside the pattern for the Connector that the NETS were connected to.
Sorry for this.

Net exisits on Schematic, removed in PCB, replaced with other net
Hey all,
I finished my schematic and have begun to lay out my PCB, but I have a nagging issue that I hope someone has a fix for.
I have a power in and a ground coming in on a connector. In the Schematic, the Ground is Net 3 and power is Net22. All good there, but when I ernew the layout from teh ...

Connecting to a net on another sheet
Hello.
I have a voltage comparator output connected to a pull up resistor. I need to connect this to a net on another sheet, but the connection manager does not allow this to happen. In Attachment 'comparator' U4.1/pin 1 is connected to R7. I need to connect U4.1/pin1 to 'Fan Tach' on the other ...

Re: Additional fields setup
Thanks for the work arounds, and I will implement them. But it seems counter productive to not allow configuration of the software regarding adding fields to default directory components. Especially since the software allows for the creation of BOMs the ability to tell the software that for all ...

Re: Additional fields setup
So I need to go to EVERY component in the library and change EACH one for each category? Holy S*** that has to be the most inefficient thing I have ever come across in a software package.
Just for the sake of kicks and giggles I tried to modify a part in the DISCRETE library. I get an error saying ...
