Re: What is the best option to put a Logo into the board?

I believe I found it out by trial and error, just found a folder called silkscreenPCB full of different colour combinations on my logo..
It may be in the documentation, but I'm very bad at looking into help files..

Glad I could help!

Re: What is the best option to put a Logo into the board?

The way I've done it is by converting the logo to a black and white bitmap (.bmp). Then the white will be transparent.
However, it doesn't appear transparent at first when put on the silkscreen layer for instance, but the 3D preview and manufacturing output will be correct.

Re: Stiching Layers together with Vias

Try connecting the vias to the pour with ratlines, or by right clicking on the via and "Add to net", this will get rid of the errors.

Re: DipTrace Schematic and PCB questions

Might actually said wrong on question 1, it may very well mark the origin of the part! (as it's not there for the other hole, it seems more reasonable).

Re: DipTrace Schematic and PCB questions

1) The cross marks the center of the hole. 2) In your figure, the pins are rotated 180 degrees wrong, the side with the square is where the wire will be connected in the schematic. Therefore, you don't need to draw the line out from the body manually, like you've done, but just attach the pins to th...

Re: 3D CAD software recommendations?

I personally use Autodesk Fusion 360 for parametric CAD. I believe it's free for start-up companies and they have a free education license. Otherwise it's subscription based.. They have an own Youtube channel with a lot of tutorials (mostly for beginners) that's nice. Another alternative may be Onsh...

Re: component alignment

If you want to enable an all-encompassing cursor cross-hair, press "X". Well that certainly helps! Thanks! The grid dots should be white, not gray as the gray is very difficult to see. Overall I can live with some of DipTraces shortcomings, but the alignment may be a deal breaker. JIm You...

Re: Can´t copy objects cause of "Upgrade Diptrace"

The PCB Layout reports 461 pins used. I've seen this when using hierarchical sheets, but I didn't see any in your schematic. I found however that all DPx components only show some of the physical pins of the module in schematic, meaning all other pins doesn't count in schematic. However, they do cou...

Re: Searching for LED models in 0603

I think I found a basic model under Opto (step file), but it doesn't have 0603 in the name..

I've attached the model I use for LEDs.

Don't know why it disappears, but you can hold middle-mouse or right mouse button and drag the drawing around.
