Re: Schematic Grid inaccurate

1) as stated, the grid must be on 2) if you add a part with the grid off and then turn the grid on, nudging with arrow keys will move the grid amount but will not snap to the grid 3) if you add a part with the grid off, and then turn the grid on, dragging the part with the mouse WILL snap it to the ...

Re: How to install 3.0 demo without affecting 2.4?

You can install DipTrace v.3 to different folder than version 2.4. This will not affect existing version and libraries. But some settings will be shared between versions because they are saved in registry and *.dat files. You can backup your settings and recover them when you want (read below). Ple...

Re: Convert to PCB

Hi Alex After viewing Tom's post I have got it working. I think it had something to do with both programs being open. Anyway works every time now. Thanks again for the great help, especially when one is on a learning curve. It's great to have a forum where you can get a quick response for a problem...

Re: Update from Library

It helps if you think of the Component library as THE library, and think of the pattern library as simply a bunch of templates that can be copied into the component library when you "attach" a pattern. You're not really attaching it to a pattern. You're copying the pattern and that copy lives in the...

Re: Convert to PCB

Hi I am still new to this, but I'm learning fast. :) My question is this. I have created a schematic, got it into a PCB and routed OK. I have now added some extra parts to the schematic and wired them up OK, but I cannot get the new stuff into my existing PCB file. In Schematic I tried Convert to P...

Re: 3.0 Upgrade 3D Models Not Updating

In 2.4, there's no need to remove anything. Just find the pattern you just updated in your pattern library, and click on it as though you were assigning a new pattern. You'll see it update. I just tried it in 3.0, and it works there as well. Yes, propagating patterns is a royal PITA. The Component l...

How to install 3.0 demo without affecting 2.4?

I currently have 2.4. I'd like to at least try version 3.0. Is there a surefire way to install 3.0 without affecting anything in 2.4 (libraries, settings, etc)?

Re: ECO mode?

Just remove all of the libraries from your library setup for the PCB. Then you can't add components because there's nothing to add. As far as removing them, that gets caught when you check the PCB to the schematic. I've actually never tried deleting a component with the nets locked, so I don't know ...
