Re: Some part disappear from the PCB layout

If you have added a part to the PCB, but not the schematic, and it has a reference designator, DipTrace will see it as a component. Any component on the PCB that is not present in the schematic will be removed during the " Renew Layout from Schematic " process. I am aware of two methods that can be ...

net port changes

DipTrace's implementation of net ports is confusing, potentially dangerous and incomplete. The following is a list of characteristics I think DipTrace net ports should exhibit... 1) A net port should never link its library name to the connection. 2) A net port should never force a connection change ...

Re: Identify a broken Zener diode?

No way to know what the zener is without a schematic and/or parts list. There appear to be other concerns such as missing copper on at least one rotary switch pad (remember to check the mating wipers for corrosion), a corroded connector contact (remember to check the mating connector pins for corros...

Re: Route Keepout Question

Route Keepout visibility is dependent upon the " Layer Display Mode " setting... * When set to " Current Only ", Route Keepout will not be visible on other layers. * When set to " All Layers ", Route Keepout will be visible on all layers. * When set to " Contrast ", Route Keepout visibility on the ...

Re: N/C drill holes not previewing or appearing in .drl file

...1) If I select pads individually (or in groups) and go to pad layers and select just bottom, isn't that all I have to do to ensure there will be no top pads or plating? Or is it just sufficient to tell a board house that ALL holes are non-plated?... It seems reasonable to me that if you don't in...

Re: N/C drill holes not previewing or appearing in .drl file

I know this is probably way off on an unrelated tangent, but just for curiosity's sake go to the main menu in the PCB Layout editor and select " File " > " Layout Information... " to open up the " Design Information " dialog window. Does the " Holes " information listing track with what you believe ...

Re: N/C drill holes not previewing or appearing in .drl file

My knowledge on this subject is almost non-existent, but I did some experimenting and found that if both layers are not selected/highlighted then the coordinates will not be exported. As far as things not lining up, you might look to see if the " [x]Use Design Origin " option has something to do wit...

Re: How to bring back ungrouped component

It most likely hasn't been imported into your user libraries. You will have to copy the schematic component to one of your User Components libraries, and the PCB pattern into one of your User Patterns libraries. Copying a component In the Schematic Editor choose the " User Components " group, select...

Re: How to bring back ungrouped component

...Are you saying I only need to use the Pattern Editor to change the component and not worry about ungrouping/grouping?... It's a little more involved than that, but yes. Ideally, the schematic component should be using a component located in one of your component libraries. If so, then hopefully ...

Re: How to bring back ungrouped component

Since they are only silkscreen markings you can leave them ungrouped and they should not disappear when running the " Renew Layout from Schematic " tool. FYI, re-syncing a component is accomplished by matching its reference designator to its counterpart on the schematic and choosing the " By RefDes....
