Re: Best way to update changes from library?

Okay - thanks. At least I'm not missing something. This is the ONLY complaint that I have of DipTrace over Eagle. (Not that I don't have other complaints, but DipTrace has been breath of fresh air since Eagle. :-) I do actually often use the Ctrl-A to Update from Library, but even then it only works...

Best way to update changes from library?

If I make a minor adjustment to a Pattern and I'd like the change to be reflected in my Layout, is there an easy way to do this? Currently, my process is: Make the change in the Pattern editor. Save changes. Switch to the component editor. Select group, library, and Component that is associated with...

Re: Important export settings not saved with layout

Any chance this can be added as a feature in a future version? It's quite painful and error prone to maintain custom mask/paste settings on every pad, when they are all the same (except for perhaps a couple). And if you decide to make an adjustment, you have to carefully, by-hand, change every pad s...

Re: Annular ring pad with drill hole

Okay, yes - I am seeing that (the connection point is on the side). I thought it was in the center because I routed a trace across the whole part, and the trace disappeared in the center where there's a drill hole.

Thanks agin,

Re: PCB antenna layout

Thank you - very helpful - gave me an idea of how I can do it in a pattern. I've decided to use a pattern that consists of 3 pads: a square pad to connect the antenna feed line, a square through hole pad for the ground return, and a big polygon pad for the rest, that remains unconnected (but is real...

Re: Annular ring pad with drill hole

Thanks! I tried this - and I can see that this would work - however, I have a few issues... 1) I use Inkscape, and using my defaults, exporting to a DXF and then importing showed no image on any layer. I tried a random DXF icon I found on the web, and it works fine - so it's clearly a Inkscape probl...

PCB antenna layout

I am trying to layout a meandering PCB antenna, according to Cypress's guidelines: http://www.cypress.com/file/136236/download Basically, I'm trying to create a pattern with the following constraints: A custom meandering copper shape with specific dimensions Two pins on that shape (with no solder ma...

Annular ring pad with drill hole

I'd like to create a pattern for the SMD microphone: Invensense ICS-43434 Which has the footprint shown in the attached image (taken from the PDF above). That footprint shows I need a ground pad that annular ring with a hole drilled through the center. This is different from a standard though hole p...
