Re: Pattern library

Hello Dip Trace Forum, Well it has taken me all day but I think I have created a PIR component. I believe the method is 1. Create Pattern library 2. Create Pattern 3. Create Component library 4. Create Component 5. Attach Pattern to Component 6. Place Component in schematic. Would still like to know...

Pattern library

Hello DipTrace Forum, Cannot find the component needed, a PIR sensor similar to hc-sr501 or RE200B. So working on building a pattern and component. In the excellent tutorial DipTrace Training Course at 'On your left-hand side....open any standard library...' But, I guess because it has not been used...

Schematic Component PIR Sensor

Hello Dip Trace Forum, Have done a dozen or so PCB layouts from my own schematics. This is my first schematic. Have had good luck so far using the excellent 'Creating a simple schematic' but have found a bump in the road. Need to put a PIR sensor (motion detector) in the schematic. Have scoured the ...

Re: PCB Terms

Hello Tomg, Excellent explanation. AT the annular ring URL it says' 'An annular ring is the area on the pad that surrounds a through via.' Again, I think I know what a 'via' is but not absolutely sure. So Binged that. 'Vias are the means to interconnect different layers on and within the multilayere...

PCB Terms

Hello Dip Trace Forum, Have been designing and ordering PCBs for several years but there are some terms that elude me. These two are most confusing: 1. Annular ring {isn't that on a tree?) Googled this and got 'that portion of conductive material completely surrounding a hole.' and in another place ...

Pad size

Hello DipTracer forum, Have searched the tutorials and this forum for hours. This is such an easy question can't believe it is not touched on in the tutorials or a question answered in the forum. Anyway, just got PCBs back from manufacturer OshPark. They turned out great. The copper around drill hol...

Re: Manufacturer Says Board File Missing

Hello TomG and the Dip Trace forum, I submitted three times and got my order canceled three times at JLCPCB. Yesterday ordered from Seeed Studio. They also say there is no board file when in fact there is a file called 7219_Board_180802_c.gbr Part of the problem is both JLCPCB and Seeed are in China...

Manufacturer Says Board File Missing

Hello DipTrace forum, Placed order twice with manufacturer for PCBs They keep coming back saying: 'There is no board outline in the zip file and we don't know how to cut your boards' In the zip file attached there is a file 7219_Board_180802_c.gbr That is the board file. The file show a simple recta...

Re: Mouseover trace shows continuity

Hello Tomg and the DipTrace Forum, Please forgive my ignorance. I am a bit of a DipTrace newb. It is believed that a 'net' is a group of pads and traces tied together. A search for 'net' in the Help file reveals that right clicking on a trace or a pad will show to what net the element belongs. Thoug...
