Re: Inner layers disappeared after Gerber export
The bottom layer looks similar to my previous L2. I am trying to add the other two missing layers (L3, L4), however the tool thinks that the current bottom layer (which was L2 previously) should always be in the bottom. It doesn't allow me to transform it into the second layer. Please advise. Thanks...

Inner layers disappeared after Gerber export
Hi, I designed a 4-layer PCB and exported Gerbers, NC drill, BOM and pick and place files. However, when I re-opened DipTrace Layout, my design had only Top and Bottom (default) layers. The inner layers disappeared. Also, the name of the top/bottom layers changed. I used to have L1/L2/L3/L4 and now ...

Re: Help with DRC
I think so, when trying to select the copper area inside the part it selects the whole part so I un-grouped the component and selected the border of the copper area inside the part, it shows it as a shape (top layer signal). However, it doesn't have any net attachments. By the way, when I check the ...

Re: Help with DRC
The vias are basically sitting in the area in-between the top paste squares. Diptrace issues DRCs of "via to copper" and "via to SMD" types. Is top paste considered copper or SMD?
Thanks,
David

Re: Help with DRC
By the way, the connection to ground is ok, the problem is just the DRCs. This is the only pattern in my design which has the "Top Paste" layer in the pattern. Basically, it's 4 squares of "Top Paste" (brown color) inside one big PAD square (red color square): pattern2.JPG Thanks for your input. Tha...

Re: Help with DRC
I tried copper pour but the affected area remains out of the pour. Here's the picture: Capture_poured.JPG The area where DRCs occur has the following structure in the pattern: Capture_poured.JPG The brownish squares are "Top Paste"s and four squares together form a PAD. In DRC, it shows weird drill-...

Help with DRC
Hi,
I am getting DRCs for the following pattern layout, but I am not sure why it is violating. The copper is expected to be there and the supplier has confirmed the pattern is correct. Can you please help?
Thanks,
David

2 pads for one pin
Hi, I am new to pcb design, to the tool and to the forum so my question maybe very simple. Is there a way to assign 2 pads to a single pin? In my case I need to split the pad into 2 parts (for better, more even soldering) and wanted to assign the same pin to the 2 pads. But seems like in the "attach...
