Re: Placing symbols
You can add text to your PCB then do the ALT code for the registered symbol. Add text and while typing hold the ALT key and on the numpad type 0174 then release ALT. At first all you will get is this empty square alt code 1.jpg But if you right click the text and change font type from vector to True...

Re: Hide chosen connections
Diptrace already has something that may be along the lines of what you are looking for. If you right click a pad that is on the net you wish to hide, there is an option to hide net ratlines. I use this a lot for ground or power nets that tend to make it hard to see what is going on. You can also com...

Re: Custom Footprint Covered Pads in Version 3.3.1.3
Gerber data, and in this case diptrace, shows the mask layer as a negative, meaning if it shows up in the layer the board house is to NOT apply mask there. So when you draw the square over the center diptrace thinks you intend to have it as an opening in the masking, not additional masking. To get t...

Re: Tieing a compaonent to a hat

In the pattern editor create a pattern that includes all the pads, mounting holes, and silkscreen in the positions that are in your template. Also add the outline of...

Re: has anyone used Samacsys? to source a component or build one
I just tried it out last night and it worked alright but leaves a bit to be desired. For small stuff I think it would be great, and it seems to have a pretty good set of already implemented parts. As for the catch it didn't seem to have any from what I can see. Perhaps, like you said, some of the bi...

Re: Hierarchy Blocks - Copy Copper also?
Hi, I am still somewhat of a new user myself but I have used the hierarchy route function a few times to copy a set of parts that contain large copper pours. Here is an example image with a hierarchy block (on the left) that contains some copper pours. The one on the right is the block I want to cop...
