@Tomg
Thanks for the confirmation. I came to understand that, but it stills looks a mess. I haven't actually started routing yet, so maybe it will go better than I expect.

Re: ratline mess...what am I doing wrong?
Further investigation indicates that the problem is the ratlines show up on both sides of the PCB for all components whether the components are on the top or the bottom of the board. Surely that can't be right???

ratline mess...what am I doing wrong?
I am trying to lay out a PCB with some through hole components and many SMD components. As you can see in the attached printouts, I have a mess of ratlines. What am I doing wrong? How can I fix it? Thanks.

Connecting a copper pour on the bottom to one on the top.
I have a copper pour on the bottom of my PCB that is connected to ground. I also have a small copper pour under a crystal can that I would like to connect to ground, but I don't know how. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

When I want DipTrace Schematic to not take up the whole screen, I use the windows shrink icon, and then stretch the window to the size I want to use. But then when I exit DipTrace Schematic and then restart it, and use the shrink icon again, I have to again stretch the window to the size I want. I t...

Re: Editing segments problem/question
Alex,
Thanks for the reply. I had mistakenly set the Minimum Angle and Segment values much too large, and that was causing my problem. The segments were moving large distances.

Editing segments problem/question
When I try to edit (use mouse to grab and move) a segment in a trace, the edit seems to work, but when I let go of the segment, the entire trace jumps completely out of place. Do I have a setting wrong somewhere? Thanks.

Re: Confusion between Component Editor and Schematic
Thanks. So there is no way a user can set the default markings so that the program always defaults according to user preferences?Alex wrote:You can find default marking settings in Schematic using "View/ Part marking" from main menu.
