Is there any way to select all components in a hierarchical schematic?

I need to create a schematic and footprint library from several schematics.
What's the process for extracting these from existing schematics?

I have several heir blocks which I see are automatically created, but I don't see how to change their size.
Also, the pin positions seem to be fixed?

I have seen mentions of this issue from 10 years ago, please tell me it's been fixed.
