Re: SC-70 patterns named SOT23

The SOT23 is the common name for SOT23, SOT323(SC-70), SOT416(SC-90) and other packages, which have the similar geometric configuration, except a pin pitch. The Unique Name can include JEDEC Name, JEITA Name and/or manufacturer name and it is used while filtering by Name.

I noticed that all the patterns in the official DipTrace "Res Chip Inch" and "Res Chip Metric" pattern sections have an incorrect reference designator - "C" instead of "R"

Probably a simple copy paste error...
Thank you for report. We will fix it.

Re: IPC-7351 Pattern Generator numerous part types are missing 3D automatic model generation ability.

If parts are created that don't have a 3D tab / generation option, its also unclear if those parts will obtain 3D model once the feature is implemented for that part, so perhaps someone could confirm that would be the case? All patterns which were created earlier will be have 3D model too. To be su...

Re: IPC-7351 Pattern Generator numerous part types are missing 3D automatic model generation ability.

In version 4.0.0.2, 3D Generator can create the models for 29 of 71 part families. We plan to do 3D models for all families.
In the next build will be added:
DFN 2 Pins
DFN 3 Pins
DFN 4 Pins
Capacitor, Aluminum Electrolytic
Radial (Electrolytic)
DPAK

Re: Interpreting new IPC pattern names

Yes, IPC Name doesn't contain the pad dimensions. This is theirs solution. If you have the datasheet which contains the device sizes you can find IPC Name by these sizes. Aslo, you can use the manufacturer pads. To do it: - run Pattern Generator, - switch to "Use Pattern Dimensions Recommended by Ma...

Re: Missing components and patterns from libraries in v4

We recently completed to redesign DPAK library. It will be available in the next build. Also, you can use Pattern Generator to create the most common patterns. Just open Pattern Editor, switch the Style to IPC-7351, run Pattern Generator, enter the device dimensions from datasheet and push "Calculat...

Re: v4Beta4 - Unable to generate 3D model by entered dimensions

The dimension from component edge to heel of lead should be more zero. Try to change E, E1 or L values.

Re: IPC-7351 pattern Generator window is larger, not fit into the screen.

Unfortunately, the size of Pattern Generator window can't be changed. This problem is seen for 14-16 inch monitors. You can left click on the window to move it up. In this way you will be able to access the buttons in the bottom part of the window. Notice, the window location will be maintained at t...
