Re: Panelizing & Copper Pours

Ahhh, I see, my apologies!
Can't help you there, never tried it with different designs.

Perhaps, when you are setting up layers, set all layers as signal layers and make your copper pours on the signal layers instead of the plane layer.

Re: Panelizing & Copper Pours

Ok, your doing it all wrong! :D First get rid of the board cutout shape, you need to make it the board outline. Objects>place board outline Then go Edit>panelizing Then click "show panel border" and the rest is pretty self explanatory. If you are using fiducials on the panel boarder you ne...

Re: Exporting Pick and Place Data From A Panel

Hi Alex, Just wondering if this "feature"/bug has been added/fixed in v3 of diptrace? It is quite difficult to line up a panel of pcb's manually. Kind of makes sense to generate your panels using the panellise feature, with fiducials on the boarder of the panel. One would think that the Pn...

Re: DIP switch problem need help to set address in code!

It's probably been sorted now, but I would have been inclined to just get the boards re-manufactured from a different supplier and shipped asap. It will cost more, but I think those boards you have will bite you in the bum at a later stage, especially if there are other vias in the circuit too.

Re: 1 minute periodic FREEZE -- provide options PLEASE!

Open up task manager and go to the performance tab. Open up resource monitor. Open it up full screen and in the processes section select the cpu column to you can see which program is using the most cpu time. And in the services section also select cpu. Just make sure that when the freezes are happe...

Re: Talk to me about my design

G'day Mike, Probably a bit late... Have you started your design by first making a schematic in Diptrace and then creating the layout from the schematic? Also, have you wired up the design on a breadboard to test that the design concept actually works? If you have to create schematic components or de...

Re: Support characters used in our field

Well I don't know about you fellas, but when I do my values for parts I do it like this, 47R 3k 100k, 1M 0.1R, 100p 100n 100u. Now if you were throwing some inductors among the mix, it would probably bee good not to be lazy and for capacitance values add the F, eg nF pF uF, just so when you put a 47...

Re: Freezes once a minute - auto save?

Have you checked that you have sufficient free ram. Also, what programs are actively using the cpu while this freeze is happening? Check the task manager. Also try loading up with minimal other applications open, turn off your internet connection, firewall, virus etc and see if it runs better. I did...

Re: Making PC Board Only

To find the Dip patterns, depending what version of DT your running, click on "filter off" Then search area "all libraries", name "Dip". Alternately at the top of your library viewing window, click to select which library you would like to use and select "patterns&...

Re: Gerber Export!!!

For the nc/drill have you tried just re-naming the file? The content of the file is text.
Pcbway accept the file as it is.
I just do gerber export and select export all, then the nc drill.

I'm not sure what they are asking for with mechanical layer.
