In the SCHEMATICS program, select COMPONENTS, then scroll down to "Potentiometers Trimmers",

Adding 3D model to SnapEDA downloaded component

I thought I was getting pretty good at adding components to libraries, but I just tripped myself up somehow. I needed to add an LM675T to a schematic. There was not one in any of my libraries, but SnapEDA had it. I can easily download the SnapEDA component and add it to my user library, but here's w...

Re: Extra component on 3D render

Thanks Serg!
That found the problem. The SOIC-16 3D model was somehow attached to a pad. I didn't know that was even possible. All OK now.

I appreciate the help very much!

Extra component on 3D render

I'm stumped. On the 3D render of one of my PCB's I can see an extra 16 pin SOIC chip on the backside of the board. I don't see it on the schematic or on the PCB layout. How can I troubleshoot this?

Re: How do you make libraries that work across computers?

I ran across that same problem but I took a different approach.
I created C:\Diptrace\My Libraries off the root on all three computers I use. I use Google Drive to keep the libraries in sync.

Re: Does this "easy" tool even work??

I had bad luck with it too, but yesterday I got in a jam and was forced to try it again. It worked great this time. I needed a 3D model for a device that was not listed. I requested it (free) and received the 3D model and footprint in less than an hour. Don't try to use the Diptrace version. Just go...

Ratlines remain after connection

I notice in 4.0 that if I have a component with several pads that are internally connected to ground, that after I lay out the PCB, and all the ground pads are connected to the ground plane, the ratlines for the grounded pads remain- but they are dotted lines instead of the usual solid ratlines. Is ...

Re: Stuck splash screen

I think you're right. My system at home has an Nvidia card and it's working fine. Probably just a hardware/driver incompatibility. I'm serving out my notice to leave my company, so it will be someone else's worry after a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, the computer is an Intel NUC, so the graphics a...

Stuck splash screen

Some of the time when I have a schematic open and I click on "Convert to PCB", the splash screen for PCB layout gets stuck on my screen and PCB layout never finishes loading. I can force it closed and try it again, and it always works properly on the second or third try. I'm on 4.0.0.2, bu...
