Re: Issue with Launcher and shortcuts (64bit)

Then you're either not on the same Win7 x64 (Pro with SP1), same DipTrace version (2.3.0.1, Standard) or have some setting in Win7 that's different from mine, that's what I'm trying to find out here, not who's works and who's doesn't, but why mine doesn't. If this were a more common issue I'm sure i...

[Solved] Issue with Launcher and shortcuts (64bit)

I recently installed Win7 x64 here (all up to date) and have installed the latest 64bit version of DipTrace (Standard), but the Launcher doesn't work at all. It comes up, but nothing launches from it when clicked on, and neither do any of the Tool 'shortcuts' from inside any of the apps. Just the La...

Re: DipTrace and Gerbview - are my gerbers bad?

It's sound advice, especially before sending them off to be made up, because you'll get back exactly what they look like in the Gerber viewer, barring any major screwups on their part that is. Try another Gerber viewer, like Viewplot, and see what they look like in it. I haven't had any issues with ...

Re: reordering sheets of multi-sheet schematic

I don't think there's a setting for that, but you can right click on the sheet tab and rename them so they're at least numbered in the order you want.

A drag & drop option there for rearranging would be a nice addition, or move left/right options in the right click menu.

Re: Convert to PCB

That's just a warning that you don't have patterns associated with those parts on your schematic, and the PCB layout needs those. You just need to assign Patterns to those components is all. In the Schematic editor, right click on your component and goto Properties. Then click Attached Pattern and y...

Re: Creating a thermal pad

Since more than one Via can't be used per thru hole pad, using the Static Vias on the PCB Layout after you've made up most of the footprint in the Pattern Editor is one way to go about it. You'll have 5 pads that you'll have to later route all together on the PCB side, which isn't too big a deal sin...

Re: Transformer

There are a few in Disc_Sch, they start with XFMR.

You can make up one pretty quickly in the Component Editor too if it needs to be more specific.

Re: Atmel / Arduino

Hey Joel, One of the other great things about DipTrace is that it's fairly easy to make whatever isn't already included. The thing with an Arduino board is that it has more than just the chip on it, it's already a PCB, so you'd have to make your own component that either encompassed all of that, or ...
