Remove 3D model from specific component on one design

I have a design that I have a couple of headers specified. I'm actually just soldering wires to those points, so for the 3D display for this board, I'd like the bare holes to show up. I can't seem to remove the 3D header from just this particular PCB layout. Am I missing something, or is that not po...

Re: Shape Router Won't Route after program update

The odd thing is another Windows 7 Pro x64 machine did run it. There must be something about the Windows configuration somewhere that is upsetting the 64 bit version. I have a lot more stuff installed on this machine, the laptop has a more limited subset of applications on it. I don't think it's in ...

Re: Shape Router Won't Route after program update

I loaded the 32 bit version and it started working again. FWIW, I have Win7 Pro English that is up to date with patches. This worked until the last DipTrace update and then just stopped working. To further muddy the waters, I tried it on a different Win7 Pro machine, my laptop. The 64 bit version st...

Re: Connect copper pour between sides for thermal management

Thanks, I have a much better grasp about the copper pours and the thermal management options. :)

Re: Connect copper pour between sides for thermal management

Well, when you're right, you're right! :D That was much easier, I didn't know the usage of placing the ratlines, learned something new. ;) Hmm... When I reviewed it from the schematic, the ratlines came back. After looking around I see that it changed the net as there was a space in the numbering. I...

Re: Connect copper pour between sides for thermal management

That was the issue. I didn't have the copper pours connected to any net as I just wanted them to serve as headsinks. When I connected them to a net, I could place the pads that connected the sides and all was well.

Re: Connect copper pour between sides for thermal management

I thought the static vias were the hot ticket too, but Bay Area Circuits doesn't see it that way. :) The two copper pours are not connected to any net, maybe that's the whole problem, let me try that... Nope, no change. I also tried placing a pad in the copper pour, same problem. Here's a errors gen...

Connect copper pour between sides for thermal management

I'm doing a PCB and I'd like to use a copper pour on both sides for thermal management. I'd like to connect them using some via or other means to aid in the heat dissipation. Whenever I do this, I get design errors when I submit the board to be manufactured. What is the correct way to connect the tw...

Re: Shape Router Won't Route after program update

Please make sure you don't use board cutout instead board outline. Also verify autorouter settings (layer priority, via cost, etc.), net classes (clearance and trace width) and via styles. If nothing helps please send board file to support at diptrace dot com. I'm using board outline to define the ...

Shape Router Won't Route after program update

I recently updated Diptrace to the 3.0.0.3 (June 14, 2016) Freeware version, and now the Shape router refuses to run. It just does a brief process and then displays the unrouted board again. If I switch to the grid router, the routing works fine. I went back to previous projects that were configured...
