Allow zoom window use at higher zoom levels

The zoom window now goes to around 2500% while the scroll wheel or +/- key go much higher as needed for finer pitch and zooming on problem areas.

Along with more zoom, also need finer scroll control over the zoomed area. The scroll bars are very coarse now at high mags.

Indexed libraries for speed and indexing utility for users

An indexing scheme would allow library searches to potentially complete several orders of magnitude faster.

As the libraries grow, this would probably become a necessity.

An indexing utility would also be needed for user's to index their own library creations.

Re: Exporting schematics with searchable text

Just thought I'd add my recent finding on this topic, also covered in the layout forum (re: cross-probing). If ALL text is changed to TrueType, it then appears to be fully searchable, even reference designators and pin names. I'm using PrimoPDF to create and Foxit as a reader but after struggling wi...

Re: Moving wire disables snap, must then align visually

That could be handy after doing a lot of cutting and pasting, but at the late hour of night I was using it, I couldn't think of a reason for it :D I found a quick workaround: Move the wire one or two grid spaces away until it does snap, then hit the appropriate arrow key once or twice to bring it ba...

The 3D view of a board assembly is nice, but ...

...While it is nice to be able to see an assembly, this function has a big price tag. Development of 3D viewing, followed by saving, printing, exporting, etc. that you know everyone is going to ask for, takes significant software development resources. I will probably be purchasing DipTrace shortly ...

Moving wire disables snap, must then align visually

This same topic was mentioned last month without response so I'd like to post my version of it. When you move a wire in a direction perpendicular to a pin, it snaps to the grid when > one grid space away. When it is close to the pin, it appears that snap gets disabled. Once this happens you can only...

A method of cross probing while waiting for the real deal :)

Just thought I'd pass this along for those who would like to cross probe schematic to layout. This is a method some people use on higher end CAD systems where cross probing may require a full PCB package not available to the schematic designers or not available in typical free viewers (Mentor/PADS i...

Bus connectors and bus names relation ?

Only been using the demo a few days and the program suite seems to be very capable for the price. I'm not clear on the intended relation between bus connectors and a name assigned to a bus. After a bit of confusion, I got the bus connector on a second sheet to display the names of defined nets when ...
