Re: "Programs" menu opening wrong version of editors

"Library/search component" was moved to "Objects/Search components" in the new beta. Got it! I just discovered that a few minutes ago. FYI- The help file still says library/search components . "Edit library" launches old Component editor, that cannot open new libraries. The new beta should fix that...

"Duplicate"?? libraries

I recently upgraded to 2.1.9.1 beta, and I am noticing that there are some new libraries that are very similar to the original ones. In some cases the newer one is a smaller file than the original. Which ones can I safely delete? Am I always OK to delete the old ones? Examples: OLD.....................

I second the motion. I would like a quick way to print a 1:1 copy of a pattern to check alignment with the real component.

Re: "Programs" menu opening wrong version of editors

What file do I send you? I am running 2.1.9.1 beta. If I open schematic editor I do not get any error messages about incorrect format. I can open recent schematic files OK. If I use the launcher to open the schematic editor, start with a new, blank schematic , and then click on Library, There used t...

"Programs" menu opening wrong version of editors

I just tried to search for a pattern in the Pattern Editor in version 2.1.9.1 Beta. I got the error message "Incorrect library format!" in a window that I could not acknowledge or cancel. I had to use task manager to force it down. When I dug a little deeper, I discovered that if I use the launcher ...

3D view silkscreen layer picture is negative

The 3D visualization feature in 2.1.9.1 beta is GREAT, but I noticed one little anomaly. If I import a JPG and place it on the silkscreen layer it shows up as a negative image in the 3D view.

PCB preview export to JPG

This is a very minor problem, but in PCB layout, if you select Preview>Save>Save as JPG, the image gets cropped to the board outline. If there are any dimensions outside the board outline, they get cropped off. See attached image.

Re: Pseudo 2-lead component that has a trace between pads

I just tried creating a pattern consisting of two through-hole pads with a long skinny surface mount pad connecting them. This seems to do what you want. The two pads will be electrically connected together on the pattern, but Diptrace does not realize that they are connected. When you run a DRC you...

Re: How to identify the library for an attached pattern

If a component has attached pattern, this pattern was stored in component library. Component library is self-dependent and contains all necessary data. Therefore it doesn't matter what library did the pattern come from. That's interesting. I didn't realize that the pattern got stored in the compone...

How to identify the library for an attached pattern

When I'm in the Component editor and I'm looking at the attached pattern for the selected component, how can I tell which library the pattern came from? I can see the name of the pattern, but in a case there there may be patterns by the same name in different libraries I need to be able to tell whic...
