Re: List of Components IN PCB Layout
Have you looked at 'Panelising' in the Edit toolbar? This is a better option than copy/pasting the pcb

Re: how to ground the mounting hole.
One way is to use a via as a mounting hole, then you can make a connection to it.

Re: Polar Pattern Array
Hi Alex, Thank you for your reply. I was aware that a circular Pad array was possible, and I have used that feature. My request was regarding a polar pattern array, not pad array. For example, place a known pattern, maybe a soic_8, and then create a polar array of a number of these patterns. Regards...

Re: Need help to change the designation (labels) on solder p
If I understand your question correctly, you can hover over the component pin in the schematic, then right-click and change the component pin name and save. If you now update the pcb from the schematic, you should see the change. Can I suggest that you move the refdes to the outside of the pattern. ...

Polar Pattern Array
Hi Alex, would it be possible to add a polar array feature? It would be useful if a pattern could be selected, a centre point, a radius, angle and number of patterns so a circular pattern array could be easily created. At the moment, I use the Polar array feature in AutoCAD to create a ring of boxes...

Re: Mounting Holes
If I understand your question properly, you could apply a copper pour over the hole, connect it to the relevant net, then use one of the copper pour hatch options.

Re: 3D Step File
I think it would be a big selling point for Diptrace if it was possible to import directly into Solidworks or Autocad Inventor

3D Step File
Hi Alex,
Would it be possible to add a feature to export the PCB 3D model in Step Format? It would make life south easier to import the model into Solidworks
Regards

Re: Is making a board with PowerPAD Package possible?
If you dont want errors, You could make the component with the extra thermal pads in the component editor then add the thermal vias as pads in the pattern editor. In your schematic, connect the internal pads to the Ground plane (assuming you are using one) Alternatively. you could ignore the error, ...

Re: Guidance with parts and patterns - how to find them
Hi Headingwest, welcome to the forum The Diptrace pattern libraries are quite extensive, but like any program, will not cover every part. The easiest way to find a pattern, is to open the Pattern Editor, then click on Pattern/Search in libraries. On the left is a 'Search in' panel. Click on 'All Lib...
