Re: New Release 3.x or 4.0?
Any chance that quick'n'easy to do things requested since v2 like a "one click" gerber+drill export or storing/restoring export profiles will ever be done? I made so many bug reports, requests and suggestions over the last six years and usually I was told something like "will be consi...

Editing imported gerbers doesn't really work (any more?)
I recently tried to edit a stencil to make it easier to cut with my plotter. I'm pretty sure I did this several months (maybe even a year) ago successfully, but with the current version 3.3.1.3 editing just doesn't work any more. I.e. when I click on an imported rectangle (e.g. imported as paste lay...

Re: Half plated holes
Yep. Somehow swapped the words, but I think it's clear what I meant.
Changed thread title.

Plated half holes
I'd like to design a PCB with half plated holes. I placed their center at the bord outline, but the preview doesn't look all that great.
Is there a better way to do this in DipTrace or can I assume this is only a preview issue?

Re: 45° spokes not 45° on oval pads
Errm, yes this setting is used for thermal relief, nobody questioned that, but the specific setting is called "4 spoke". So the four traces used to connect the pad to the copper fill are called spokes. IMHO that's the common way to call them, since, well, they look like spokes. thermal 4 s...

45° spokes not 45° on oval pads
I usually never use 45° spokes but now I did, I noticed some of them are not really 45°. It seems that for oval pads, the spoke angles are somewhat stretched and not really 45° Surprisingly, the stretching seems to happen in the opposite direction of the pad's shape which makes it look extra weird. ...

Copper fills, default colors, Eagle import and other things
I faintly recall that I complained about this some years ago , but when exporting gerbers, you still can't select to overwrite all files. Real PITA as you have to click alternately right to confirm the filename and left to overwrite for each and every layer. It would be totally helpful if it was pos...

Re: DipTrace 3.0 beta
Reading this makes me shudder. I like(d) DipTrace because of fast startup, good performance and fair license policy. So wasting development resources to make DipTrace slower to implement obscure protection mechanisms seems like a terrible idea. Stuff like this drove me away from tools like UltraEdit...

Re: Next update with new features ?
Oh please, don't cripple this nice piece of software with over the top protection. That's how I was driven from UltraEdit to Notepad++ even though I have a lifetime license for UltraEdit. I agree though that development speed is much too slow (even compared to a one man show like AutoTRAX DEX). Inde...

Request: Better text/comment tool in the schematic editor
I recently stumbled over schematics done in Altium Designer, where there are comments in the schematics which are like small post-it stickers and can be collapsed/expanded. In AD they are called "notes" and honestly I think this is a very nice feature which should not be very difficult to ...
