I suspect your self assignment of nomenclature is at fault, NOT a BOM "BUG"

The DXF format is somewhat "generic"not standardized - Many versions, sometimes not even readable in a S/W update from the original source.

IF POSSIBLE (not), to 'spread the different parts of a multi-part component across several pages' ... the end document would be needlessly confused if not useless to others. Basic design ,layout, drafting, & publishing standards offer best protocol standards.

I also have never had a problem printing legible schematics. Additionally, I print the board on 3M transparency for exposing FR4 (w/photo resist) and make one off prototypes. usually double sided. All laser printers are HP. Adobe also has zero issues.
