Re: Urgent to keep .dch and .dip in sync - using annotations

Thank you Alex, I did in fact restore from schematic in my 1st step using ref ID (after visually verifying that they actually match)... but it was still messed up... can;t retrace my steps though... ref ID were changed, then restored manually, but in between DT lost links somewhere...

Urgent to keep .dch and .dip in sync - using annotations

Unlike many developers I don't need a complete schematic generation from a layout. Yet, developing schematic and layout ARE the main purpose of this kind of software and keeping them in sync is important. in many situations...
If anything happens while changing any of those files, the other "good ...

Re: Again importing Eagle SCH and BRD files to Diptrace

Got it - choosing update from schematic indeed does update without need to choose .dsh file again.
On another hand, right after that, making verification of layout with schematic... asks to choose schematic file !!!
But that's not a big deal as long as I can get expected results.

Not so when there ...

Re: Design Information for hierarchical schematic sheets

Yes, Tomg, the numbers I was interested are components and parts and in my schematic they don't make sense however I tried to guess what was taken into account... neither help, tutorial nor "training" docs provided any details on how is it calculated in case of hierarchy (or even simple multi-sheet ...

Design Information for hierarchical schematic sheets

Hello, when schematic is made hierarchical using repetitive blocks of the same module depicted in sheet2 , should the File->"design information" utility show the cumulative number of all the components and pins? Should this info be compound?
Say, sheet2 has 5 components, it is used 10 times as 10 ...

Re: Again importing Eagle SCH and BRD files to Diptrace

Thank you mdman
if I got it right, even with the board layout generated by diptrace (not imported), I still need to update manually by all these steps with "update from schematic" ? and every time I should choose the same schematic file which means DT does not link schematic and layout files? Is it ...

Again importing Eagle SCH and BRD files to Diptrace

Hello, please help - somewhat similar issue was reported back in 2011 but it could've been already fixed ...
I am trying to import my board design from Eagle, doing it according to Diptrace instructions: using ULP scripts provided by DT I imported .asc files to Diptrace : got xx.dch for schematic ...

Importing from Eagle brd file - only silk layer text missing

Hello, I followed the steps to import both schematic and layout from Eagle using the ulp to ASCII text files. Got the files in diptrace. All layers are there, silk layer is present with all the part names, values and outlines but my text is gone.
Any advice, please?

Re: DipTrace Team has the question to our users

It makes sense to add the Silicon Labs ICs because you already have in your library all their competitors represented ;)
I use extensively their SI6400 I2C galvanic isolators which comes in different packages.
They have all the models and patterns on their web site but the file format is ...
