Re: Push & Shove Routing you can do it!

Diptrace is great, the first time I tried it, it just gave me good vibes... the user interface is excellent and very well thought out. I highly recommend it.
Adding Push and shove would save tons of pcb layout time, it would definitely take Diptrace to a new level

Panelize then add fiducials and holes... how?

I can panelize the board but how do I add fiducials or mounting holes to panel border? I can do it but it doesn't work right. For example I can add fiducials or mounting/tooling hole... But it appears that diptrace duplicates them as if it were part of a single board. IF I have a grid of 2x5 it will...

pattern with duplicate pad numbers

I want to make pattern to accept two possible components each component has two pins but with different spacing. I tried two pads numbered 1 and two pads numbered 2.... Any suggestions? Can I have two pads with the same pad number?

Re: Changing pad and drill sizes

This is an old thread, but I came across the same problem. I enjoy using Diptrace but I find this to be an annoying "feature". I also want to be able to I keep my new pad and drill sizes and still be able to run renew design from schematic. I had no problem doing that in Protel99 . You sho...

Re: Decoupling Capacitors + Power Connections

I use the same trick as mentioned by DanLasley. Works great. Do the same for crystal and the two 22pf caps. In fact just looking at the ref des, I know what part of the circuit it goes in. 10 to 19 power supply etc. I would never use the parts autoplacement. Use the super computer you have between y...

how do you place junction dot on two wires that cross?

how do you place junction dot on two wires that cross?
Seems like a basic function I should be able to do.
I cant find any function for that. Using place wire doesn't work.

coordinate display

PCB layout and Pattern Editor When moving cursor over pad it does not display to 3rd decimal place, it rounds it off to the 2nd decimal place. I have not tested it in metric, but when you have it in inches its a problem. Example: Some footprint patterns specify pad locations to the 3rd decimal. I wa...

Re: Have a project folder

I always create a folder when starting a new project. Windows also allows you to create a folder, right click on save file form before saving in Diptrace, so you can do it with out leaving Diptrace.

Re: Display number of changes...

This is a good suggestion. Protel 99 had that. What is worse is expecting 12 changes but it does 200. Nice to have the warning.

semi autorouting

It would be great if while manual routing you can have it auto route the shortest route (without ripping anything else up) up to your mouse pointer. You already have the algorithm in your autoroute code. Why do I need to draw one or two segments at a time when the computer can do it. I think it woul...
