I see what you mean, but it still is a bit frustrating, this new undo/redo method.

Hopefully it can be made a selectable option in the next release?

For now Im going to revert back to DipTrace 3.2, because the undo/redo zoom feature is a little too frustrating for me to get used to.

Where is the download link for Diptrace 3.2? I cant find it on the website...
We have fixed this already and we plan to publish 3.3.0.2 update at the upcoming week. Could you wait a bit?
I worked with new 3.4 features and with this zoom feature - it is really frustrating in real tasks. So I have merged new 3.3.0.2 codes with 3.4 of my development branch and it seems updated zoom now works properly + you have 3 options including not to zoom at all.

Currently I'm thinking how to implement this. Completely separate option may confuse users, as when you turn on grid, usually you are waiting for snap also.
It is possible to make separate Turn Off Snap option, which is disabled by default. Is it ok, or snap without displaying grid is also necessary?
Also it is possible to make some hot-key, when you hold it - the snap doesn't work until you release it. What do you think?

Update:
I have added the option Snap To Grid with Alt+F11 hotkey to 3.3.0.2. The option is available only if grid is on (you can turn off snap), if grid is off the option is hidden and snap doesn't work.

Whatever method is used, please add a Snap status annunciator to the Hint area below the Design Area, along with adding other important status annunciators...

Yes, I think this would/should be fine. :)

I do not know what others think but with version 3.3.0.1 and below it is so very difficult to align components, patterns, lines, shapes, pads etc (Items) to the grid because of the snapping.
DipTrace needs a way to make it easier to align items to the grid and Items to each other more precisely without it snapping.

 And as Tomg said, it also needs an annunciator on the status bar to show if the snap is on or off.

I'm adding this. But this may delay 3.3.0.2 update (it is not one minute fix: grid snap + all annunciators on the status bar seems to take 2 days of work, yesterday and today, to implement all properly in all 4 modules)

Thanks novarm44 (Stanislav)
With the Snap-to-Grid command completely seperate from the Grid command will give DipTrace a lot more accuracy in aligning objects and extra information in the status bar.

DipTrace really seriously needs a Snap-to-Grid command which is completely separate from the Grid command...

I agree and maybe snap to grid, snap to object, snap to pin, etc (ie. Microsoft Visio snap and grid). Also option like F11 (free move) but leaves grid displayed for reference.
