After fighting JST PH connector 'Data Sheet' I started looking around and found Sullins SWx201 series are cost effective and they don't charge 10X prices, $0.06 a connector, PIN $0.03 - When I came across JST crimp tools I knew I was out: $1,495 and the cheapest is over $500. I use the Molex https://www.molex.com/pdm_docs/ats/ATS-638190500.pdf crimper, the 'locator' pop out makes it simple. My latest and last try at a SMD pattern for JST:
