snap eda ? on pattern location

#1 Post by lclore » 07 May 2022, 02:54

the snap eda search has save me a lot of time- thank you for putting that in!

When in schematic and fetching a part from snap eda, where does the pattern file get stored to? I am not finding it, though it has references & names. I'd like to attach a 3d model to the pattern as these are unique shaped LED's (and a lot of them). 3d model is also pretty great! Thank you!

Attached pattern is built-in component in Schematic. You can save the component to component library then extract pattern from the component in Pattern Editor. Attach a 3d model to the pattern, save pattern library and re-attach pattern to component in Schematic.

got it thanks- last question, is there a way to assign the nudge value for moving objects or groups of objects using the arrow keys in layout? changing grid size doesn't change nudge. Not finding anything in help or in other layout parameters unless I am missing it... Thanks

nevermind- I just answered my own question. missed the snap to grid function with grid enabled. was looking for that but it was far too obvious... :-)
