Changing component types

#1 Post by WA2SQQ » 04 Aug 2022, 11:38

New user …
If I have to change the size or type of a component, say a capacitor, is there an easy way without deleting the component? Also, can someone explain how to decipher the component descriptions? For example, what is the designation for a standard 1/4w resistor?

You can right click on a component, select "Replace Part" from submenu and choose a substitution on the dialog window.
There is "General (non-IPC) library in standard libraries. And there are RES400, RES500, etc. components there. They are resistors with TH pads, distances between pads are 400, 500, etc. mils.
