6 Pin Dip(ASSR-1411-301E) & 2 x 5 header
Hello,
I've forced my way through my first schematic and it was brutal, any..., I can not find a 6 Pin IC to put in place nor can I find any Amp 2 pin header. Please help.

I used the example files to get me started, without them I may not have made it.
Add more simple one(s) with Text.....

I think you will want to learn to use the pattern editor to make what patterns you want. You can associate a pattern with a component, or you can build a component with a schematic symbol and and an associated pattern.

OK. I used those tools and made you a couple libraries for the ASSR-1411 6-Pin DIP. I would try replacing the component in your *schematic* with the part from the hmlittle59.eli file in the attached
hmlittle59.zip
The hmlittle59.lib is the pattern I used to associate with the symbol for the component. hmlittle59.eli is the component. I would only use the component.
You really should think about the questions in my answer to your other post for the next time you are trying to describe where you are hung up. In your first post, I did not recognize the part number. In other words, say what you have achieved so far and what you are missing for doing the next step.
Note that I used an asterisk to represent the function of pin 5... Maybe a question mark would have been appropriate.

Thank you very much and I will use the file. I still do want and need to learn the steps/process of making my own components. It's suppose to be so easy!!! I was able to get my part saved to the Library, but now I need to be able to access it.

OK, I've got (my) part in my Lib., but but but, It came out on the schematic like I laid it out in the component editor, following the instructions...2 separate parts (3 pins per. side) not as one 6 pin dip component. I do remember reading about this. I think that I missed a step...or 2. Progress but not quite there yet.

Was the pattern intact? When you use a quad op amp or gate, the pieces can be moved around separately on the schematic, but there is a single pattern. The pin numbers are not duplicated. Is that similar to what you are seeing? Have you read through the parts of Help > DipTrace Tutorial that you need? I wonder if you did the steps for a multi-part component. That would not be appropriate for that single opto-isolator. So you would not want to do the “Component >Create Similar Parts” described on page 124.
Or maybe your problem is simpler. The way you draw it in the component editor should be the way you want it to appear on the schematic.

OOPS!!!
I never sent out(submit) my last update last night as I was bouncing back and forth trying to get the part saved. Anyway, I got the part done, but I will need a data sheet to get the pins assigned correctly(I could not figure out the makers web site). Also I don't know yet the steps in creating a part(s) and saving them to the same(MY) library. I had to create a new library to get the single component with all pins on one part saved. I need to do it a couple more times to learn how to save in one(1) Library.
More training here we come...

If you need more than single component in one library, open the library in Component editor, select "Component/ Add new to library" from main menu. New blank component will be added to the end of list. Now you can add pins, shapes, etc. to second component, then save it. If you need third component, do it in the same way.

It may not be pretty but its 99% done.
My PCB layout has been done for a while(Boards ordered, refined and reordered), but I just could not get the schematic program working as easy as the PCB program. I did start this project with PCBExpress software and it was very very easy to learn and get to working. My advance version of this board has even more parts (48 SMT) components with discrete BS2e interpreter, DS1302, and other components, all without schematic...but that will be next and it shouldn't be as nearly as tough(scary).
The reason I say 99% is that the schematic refer. des. do not match the PCB's refer. and that may take a while matching up.

If you renew layout from schematic by components, reference designators on schematic and PCB may be different (if you changed them manually). In that case, you can renew layout by RefDes or back annotate in schematic.
