How to set the default units for PCB Layout

#1 Post by infinitemach » 11 Sep 2021, 15:55

I have looked but I cannot see a way to make metric be the default units for PCB Layout. Every time I start a new project it defaults to mil as the units.

In the main menu of the PCB Layout editor select "View" > "Units" > "mm" (or use the hotkey combination "[Shift]" + "u" to cycle through the three choices)

* When a PCB file is resaved the last units selected will be remembered upon re-opening that same file.
* DipTrace will use the current units setting when opening a new (blank) PCB.

If you employ a custom template PCB file make sure the units are set to "mm" and then resave it. This way the units will be metric every time you open it to start a new PCB.
