What is the purpose of the "Pin Superimposing" notification?

Why is there a "pin superimposing" notification? Apparently, all it means is that in the schematic there are wires that are overlapping. In many layouts, it is quite common to draw wires from one IC to another, that are overlapping.

More importantly, why is the "pin superimposing" warning associated with "no connection?" The two terms are provided together with the "pin superimposing" notification, yet they are unrelated as far as I can tell.
