Chamfers and Rounded Corners on PCB

#1 Post by ccook@novatek.com » 27 Oct 2014, 10:12

I'm new to DipTrace, and hope I'm missing something. I'm working on a small rectangular board, but need the corners to either be chamfered or rounded. Is there an easy way to do this? Everything I can find on the subject, seems to suggest the easiest way is to draw the board outline in a tool other than DipTrace, and import the DXF.

Really! - That's the easiest way? DipTrace PCB Layout is a drawing tool that, has to handle some pretty complex stuff - seems like a rounded/chamfered corner feature would and should be part of the tool. Drawing the board outline outside the tool and importing a DXF seems counter-productive.

You need to Insert points in the Board Outline to do more complex shapes..

You can go about a simple rectangle PCB by Right Clicking the Board Outline and select Board Points, check Create RoundRect Board and enter your dimensions in there.
