New Computer, new install and library transfer

#1 Post by KevinA » 14 Aug 2019, 14:23

I installed the latest Diptrace and registered it without a hitch, copied my C:\Diptrace working folder that contains all my libraries and projects but discovered I was missing the configuration files for Diptrace to know where everything is located. I found a C:\ProgramData\Diptrace folder and copied it to my new machine now everything is where my projects want.
With Windows 10 you have to add folders outside of your Documents folder to the File History application to get them backed.
C:\Users\Kevin\Documents\DipTrace is the default location but leaving it there makes sharing projects and libraries a pain.

I put everything in folders on D: and totally back up D: (also allows reformat C: without loosing my own work)
You can put DipTrace Libraries and Projects anywhere you want.
We keep shared libraries on a server, bit slower to access but overall usually not a problem.
You can select a "libraries folder"
