Making complex pad shape

#1 Post by gunrunnerjohn » 22 Dec 2022, 06:39

I want to create a relay pattern that works for both the thru-hole and SMT versions of the IM relays. On the surface, this seemed simple, so I made one. I took the thru-hole pattern and modified the contacts to also include the SMT capability. This looks great, but I can't resolve the fact that the added part is a separate contact, so I get all sorts of numbering issues when I do a verification.

How does one resolve that issue?

See if this helps...
Place each SMT and through-hole pad pair where needed and make sure to give each pair identical pin numbers with the suffix "@". (e.g. 1@, 2@, 3@, etc.)

Great, I wondered if there was some magic incantation to allow duplicate pin numbers! :)

THANKS
