3D Models Not Drawn Properly in V4.0.0.4

#1 Post by MarkF » 15 Jul 2020, 04:42

Some 3D models are not drawn properly in version 4.0.0.4
The issue is that some of the model faces are not being drawn.

More issues:
Installed update, opened PCB but when I try to view 3D of PCB I get:
4004-3D-Fail.jpg

And nothing else.

Here's another one. The 3D Preview (v4.0.0.4) of one of my small example boards reveals a "ghost via" that does not exist in the Design Area...

We confirm the problem with showing capacitor's 3D model.

Where are 3D model files located? If they are on network drive it may take some time to scan all 3D models.

Here is a smaller file that will demonstrate the problem...

The 3d files are local, on an SSD with an outrageous read rate, I moved them to the 'SLED' drive (6TB SATA 6 drive) and changed the file location Tools/3D Preview/Patterns and Models Search with the same results, hangs.
I did find Tools/3D Preview/3D Visualization and when I click on 3D Visualization I got the 3D view without the pop up 'Search 3D Models...'
NOTE: My OS is Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 20161.rs_prerelease.200627-1754
