Hi,
I created a PCB in DipTrace Layout 3.3.1.1, for which I imported the outline from a DXF. It shows correctly as a "board outline" and has "board cutouts" for the holes, as intended. The 3D preview looks the way it should.
However, once I export a STEP file, the resulting model is always "hollow" like this and has artifacts, such as the one hole that appears filled. We are importing this into Siemens NX, but Solidworks shows the same issues.
I can sometimes "fix" it by running it through a STEP viewer and re-saving it, during which process the file size usually gets a bit bigger.
We've been having the problem quite a bit, but I have no idea how to get around it.
Is this known, or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Rafael
3D STEP export broken?
Re: 3D STEP export broken?
Thank you for the report. Could you please send board file and custom 3D models to DipTrace support or upload them on the forum.
