Screen Rendering

#1 Post by fastbike » 13 Jul 2021, 13:26

I've been running DIPTrace under Ubuntu/Wine but had problems with getting titles etc to work (this is a known bug).

So I have switched to VirtualBox and am running Windows 7 64 bit. I have enabled 3D rendering.

I now have a bug whereby the drawing surface in the Schematic tool stays in the foreground of the Windows screen when the program is minimized. I.e. you can see the black drawing surface with the dots and the components that were added. I have tried different graphics modes as the program warned that Windows GDI was slow. This makes no different.

This rendering artifact hides any other Windows program that is behind it - thus making the program not a good neighbour to other programs

Some screen shots attached, you can see it is only the drawing surface and not the other UI parts with toolbars and components lists etc

It looks like a problem with graphics on virtual machine, not DipTrace problem. You can try to install VirtualBox Extension Pack (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads) for better support of hardware on your machine.

Changed back to Windows GDI in the DipTrace graphics mode setting. That fixed it.
Thanks for the answer, you can close this ticket
