DipTrace 4.0 beta - Black background in Component Editor
In Version 4.0 Beta, the Component Editor now has a black background. I tried to change this, but the 'View' drop-down doesn't have a 'Color' selection. There is such a selection in the Schematic Editor, but not in the Component Editor or the Pattern Editor. This also seems to be true in Version 3.3, but the scheme there has a white background, with which I am OK.
Is is possible to add the 'Color' selection to the 'View' drop-down in both the Component Editor and the Pattern Editor ?
Thanks

I also find that extremely unfortunately and makes it very close to a no-no for all the circuits I am working on (or have been working on).0xdeadbeef wrote: ↑25 Feb 2020, 08:22Now it just needed seven years or so
Still no push and shove as expected, though. No tear drop pads either. Maybe in another 5-10 years if I still live that day.
I guess I'll still update anyway. Despite of its excruciatingly slow development I still kinda like DipTrace.
I do understand that push and shove can be tricky to program, but teardrops shouldn't be THAT hard.

From memory, I believe that you set the background colour in Schematic Capture that then is pushed across to Component Editor & the background colour in PCB Layout that is then pushed across to Pattern Editor.garytennyson wrote: ↑09 Mar 2020, 05:35 There is such a selection in the Schematic Editor, but not in the Component Editor or the Pattern Editor. Fixed for the next updateTomg wrote: ↑06 Mar 2020, 09:14 DipTrace v4 Beta.2 bug: When a new, filled circle shape (filled obround forming a true circle) is placed in the Design Area of the Schematic Editor, it can't be completely deselected by clicking in a blank space; and "Filled Obround" is always displayed in the lower left-hand corner of the Hint Area. A filled obround that forms anything other than a true circle does not cause this problem. The other three editors do not appear to have this bug.
DoneSince in practice you always need to include the drill file, there should be the possibility to include that file in the naming scheme of the gerber files.
Lack of this feature makes the automatic zip creation less than useful when you must manually rename the "through.drl" file inside the archive to conform to the <project>.xxx naming scheme.
I will try to integrate teardrops and t-junctions into 4.0.I do understand that push and shove can be tricky to program, but teardrops shouldn't be THAT hard.
Specification has been completed today - not very easy though, so may delete release a bit. On the other hand we will test other features better while develop this one.

Update on the BGA 3D display issue with Pattern Editor: Installed Nvidia Quadro video card, for the MAX32650 96 pin BGA it took 2 minutes to load then I had to use ALT+TAB to bring the 3D display forward. The MAX32650 144 pin LGA loads and displays correctly in 6 seconds. Once the BGA image is displayed the image can be rotated without issues. I started in Windows GDI and the screen was going nuts switched to OpenGL now it works right, that is the mode I used for testing.

I truly hope your going to put a button somewhere on the GUI that says "WHAT THE HELL AM I MISSING" not spending anymore time screwing around trying to get the OK button active.

Re: DipTrace 4.0 beta
Hi!
I have a couple of questions that stays unclear for me till now:
1. Do you planning to add equivalent Pin/Gate swap function to sch and pcb editors?
2. What about Back Annotate function that transfers changes from pcb to sch?
I hope this functions will be added someday and this software will be usable at last.
Otherwise, there is no much reason to buy it. WBW.

1. We plan to implement Pin/Gate swap function in future but not in upcoming version.w6k wrote: ↑22 Mar 2020, 07:18 Hi!

2. There is back annotation in DipTrace. It allows to update RefDes, net names and net classes in schematic based on changes in PCB Layout.
Re: DipTrace 4.0 beta
Got some results for teardrops. It is not completed yet (integration into all parts of the program is still in process), but we can show dialog window and result on test layout. Please let us know if any thing is incorrect.
