While spending a day making JST parts I was using Edit/Align Object with Direction Horizontal, Align By Center, Distribute Equally with Spacing set to a number. The Pads were left to right with two large ground/solder pads for the SMT devices
With a part set at 2mm pad pitch and width of the pad as 1mm the Spacing was 1mm but with pad pitch at 1.5 and pad width of .7 I had to do some math, Spacing ended up being .8.
Could you add a Center to Center Spacing where we just use Pitch?
Pattern Align add Center to Center Spacing
Re: Pattern Align add Center to Center Spacing
Could you provide the example, I don't understand exactly?
Re: Pattern Align add Center to Center Spacing
I think the following changes in the "Distribute Equally" section might be what Kevin would like to see...

Re: Pattern Align add Center to Center Spacing
Set the origin temporarily on parts center, set grid=5mm, move parts on grid. Or I'm missing something?
Re: Pattern Align add Center to Center Spacing
That method might be a bit tedious when you are trying to align a lot of parts at one time. In my opinion, the alignment tool should be a little more flexible when it comes to determining how to space parts. In the menu example above, the user would be able to speed up the process of both alignment and spacing.
