Curved text?

#1 Post by Qrper » 15 Sep 2020, 07:17

Gang....

is it possible to have curved text?

I'd like to put some text (Top silkscreen) along the circumference of a circle.

thanks...

* Use a vector drawing program that will allow you to put down text in an arc and export the drawing to a DXF file, then import that DXF file into the Silk Layer of the PCB layout.
* Use Microsoft Word's "WordArt" feature to draw an arc of text, somehow save it as a JPG or PNG file (screen capture?) and import the picture into the Silk Layer of the PCB layout. The results probably won't be very pretty, though.
* Use the circular component placement method discussed in a previous post, this time with individual text characters instead. This method is time-consuming, but it should be capable of yielding the cleanest results...

Make sure to select the Center text anchor point for each text instance...
