I would like to export my DipTrace schematic to a .pdf with searchable text. I have installed a couple of tools including DoPDF and NitroPDF and unfortunately the output files do not have searchable text. If I export a .pdf from a text editor, I can search the text in the output .pdf file.
Any ideas? If not, I can add it to the enhancement request list.
Exporting schematics with searchable text
Re: Exporting schematics with searchable text
Unfortunately, schematic is saved within a pdf file as a picture, therefore it is not possible to use search function.

Thanks Alex
Re: Exporting schematics with searchable text
Just thought I'd add my recent finding on this topic, also covered in the layout forum (re: cross-probing).
If ALL text is changed to TrueType, it then appears to be fully searchable, even reference designators and pin names. I'm using PrimoPDF to create and Foxit as a reader but after struggling with both, it appeared that the latest Foxit reader works fine but text must not be in vector format (otherwise it looks like a graphic or some other block to the reader).
Also tested with Adobe reader and it seems to find things ok.

Thank you Den! I will give that a try.

This worked very well, thank you Den! This will certainly help when reviewing schematics.
I have a couple of small rendering issues, but I think its because of the PDF printer not DipTrace. I had better luck with DoPDF than NitroPDF2. I will try PrimoPDF and may some others.
