Hello everyone,
just arrived and first time posting here, so please bear with me if the question has already been answered, I did not found the answer yet.
I'm working on some circuits using DipTrace 2.4.0.2 (yes, I know it is not the newest but for me it's working perfectly for now), licensed.
To reduce the amount of work, I'm using SamacSys website to get pre-made symbols and footprints.
From that site, DipTrace asc files are acquired and imported, all fine and all is working ok for now.
My question is: where are the footprint imported?
Currently at import DipTrace created a new library, I then copy in main library (.lib) the model and do not save the "temporary" one.
The model has a footprint attached, but where is it saved? I did not create a footprint library and still I see the footprint.
What I would like to know is where the imported footprint lives.
Thanks!
imported ASC file.... where are the footprints?
Re: imported ASC file.... where are the footprints?
The footprint is built in component itself in component library. If you need the footprint only ( to modify for example), you can extract the footprint from the component. To do so, start Pattern Editor, open destination library and execute "Pattern -> Insert from Component" ( I may be wrong because don't remember exact menu item in version 2.4.), select component library and the component from it.
Re: imported ASC file.... where are the footprints?
I have the same question with the 4.3.0.5 version. In pattern editor there is not an "Insert from Component" option.

Use "Pattern -> Insert from Another Library" in version 4.3.0.5.Flux wrote: 07 Feb 2024, 16:30 I have the same question with the 4.3.0.5 version. In pattern editor there is not an "Insert from Component" option.
