Export/Import Library and Excel

#1 Post by nissebola » 20 May 2014, 10:38

Hi All !
I have tried to solve this by reading other posts but I´ve failed to find the solution...

1. I exported one of my own library "L1" to Excel ( 2010 ) for editing = export went fine.

2. After adding two new Excel columns ( Digikey artno + price ) I saved the file as "L1-edit".

3. But the import failed in the Component editor = "Library format is incorrect"

I have tried Excel formats:
*.csv ( Windows as well as DOS )
*.txt ( Windows as well as DOS )
and changed to. *.asc extension manually

Is this idea not possible to solve via Excel ?
If so, kindly assist me with a tutorial hands-on...
Or is there any other way to solve it ?

I work in DipTrace many years but still don't know how to export DipTrace library to Excel. But users can do it. Just curious, what did you do and how? And what do you need? Maybe there is other way to solve the task without using Excel.

I've used DipTrace now for 15+ years and I have no idea of what 'exporting a DipTrace library to excel for editing' even means ... it makes no sense to me.
