Has anyone had issues with JLCPCB solder mask being too thin and not very good?
Got any recommendations for a manufacturer like them but with better quality?
JLCPCB
Re: JLCPCB
I just signed up today.
I had a bad experience with JLCPCB in 2023. I got a prototype run of boards done in 2022 and they were pretty good. I got a couple more orders into 2023 and the quality went down. The last one was May 2023; the boards were bendy, not springy, the copper tracks would lift off very easily. and tented vias were not covered with resist. I stopped using them. It is evident that JLCBCB farms the work out to different manufacturers and is not that vigilant about consistency. It is cheap and quick; good for e few big scale boards or prototyping, but not for production.
I have been using PCBgogo for boards and assembly, and found the quality to be high and consistent. Prices are considerably higher than JLCBCB but it appears that all work is done in-house. Their stencils are better too. From what I can see they are part of a consortium behind PCBway. I am planning to use PCBgogo for ongoing production.
Hope this helps,
Rob
