How can I use Diptrace to add a background biptmap?

#1 Post by wackyleap » 31 Oct 2024, 07:10

I am now recreating a Tek PCB and am searching for ways for inserting a background bitmap so that I may trace out the original PCB's layout.

Is such a thing conceivable in Diptrace?

Select a destination layer of the bitmap image from the drop-down menu on the drawing panel. Bottom assembly layer for example or other non signal layer.
Click "Place Picture" icon, define image bounding box on design area and choose bitmap file. Probably it would be better to select "keep raster image" option.

Hi Alex.If i place images as raster images, no matter what layer I place the image on, it assumes it is placed in the bottom assembly. All placed raster images hides/shows only when bottom assy layer select/unselect on layer tab in design menager.
