Beta v5.x Splashscreen won't close

#1 Post by schemer » 07 Aug 2024, 11:47

When I try to open the PCB Editor in the v5 beta, the splash screen remains persistent and I cannot close it. I rebooted the Win10 pc and then when I try again, the splash screen covers up the other popup boxes and I have to get past that issue but then the results are the same. The splash screen will not close no matter what and all I can do is exit the program. Seems I had this problem years ago but I have been using v4x and the splash screen closes either when I click on it or on the main black program screen. Anybody else have this problem?
Thanks

Added: Even though v4x works I was testing it further and if I click on the About option the splash screen shows up as it should but it is permanently stuck and I have to go to the task manager to close and exit the program. I don't think it matters but I have 2 monitors and on the beta v5x if I move the program to the 2nd monitor, the splash screen stays stuck on the first monitor. Maybe that will help you figure out the issue.

Thank you for the report, we will investigate it.
If you open Help -> About, the splash screen appears. The left click on it or Esc key closes it. If the left click doesn't work, try the Esc key.

Hi Alex,
I starting posting this in the beta section originally here:

viewtopic.php?t=15591&start=30
So if you want me to copy that stuff over here or you can move it so it's in one location.
Thanks,
Dave
