Is this supposed to install as Diptrace viewer? In it's own folder? Why can't you stay consistent so we can simply install over the existing installation to update? I think I'll pass on this version until you get the installer fixed.

The link provided in the previous comment was for the Free Viewer which is why it has Viewer in the filename. Sounds like you wanted to full install which is available here and installs as expected.

DipTrace Viewer is separate application for viewing all DipTrace files and other ECAD/CAD formats supported by DipTrace. It is free for commercial use, but its features for making/editing projects and manufacturing output are limited (manufacturing output preview is available though). The viewer was requested many times by companies who unable to use Freeware due to its non-commercial limitations and don't want to buy additional license for viewing purposes. We decided to make application with different name to avoid rewriting parameters/folders/etc. if you install both DipTrace and DipTrace Viewer on the same workstation.

p.s. I had provided direct download link for the viewer, because it was not published on the web-site yet. Probably that is the reason of misunderstanding. Now it is on the common download page, so I have removed direct link to it from the forum message.

Ok thanks. FYI the viewer installer installed the full diptrace suite. It just installed it into the new viewer folder. It wasn't the viewer that was installed.

It is not full: no libraries, manufacturing exports, auto-router, adding components is possible, but limited to 300pins, launcher works differently.

I've just updated to 5.1.0.3 and hit the same problem I encountered with 5.1.0.2: I can no longer access shared network drives, which is where all my DipTrace files live (my NAS).

Specifically, the File/Open and File/Save dialogs only offer me my local drives.

I previously downgraded and restored that functionality.

Is this a bug or have I run into something related to this: "Network license is now available for companies and educational institutions" ? If the latter, what do i need to do to be allowed to see my NAS again?

I'm running x64 Windows 11.

Thanks

Network license does not work with local network. It allows the company, who owns number of licenses, to see/activate/deactivate all users/workplaces worldwide with singe network key.
The issue looks like system/application permissions, not DipTrace itself. Try to run as administrator or manage application permissions.

DipTrace has been updated to version 5.1.0.3 today. IPC-2581C export has been fixed (it was blocked for some boards due to fix in 5.1.0.2), minor improvements in Push and Shove algorithm and Updating PCB from Schematic. Free DipTrace Viewer is available.

Thanks. Just a week or so ago I upgraded my Lite 4.x license to 5.x and installed 5.1.0.2. I noticed new stuff (some which I also suggested as feature request in past), so thanks. I experienced issues on printing schematics - some components blank on print (no matter visible on preview) - I printed to PDF and there it worked. I just now installed 5.1.0.3 and printed latest SCH revision, and it printed OK. Not sure if that was on fixes list, or just there is some issue which shows sometimes?

I suggest on Download page, you have more detailed revision log/fixes/new features file, so users can review and decide themselves if they want to go to new rev, as well as learn about what has change to e.g. start using new features or pay attention on someting which was improved or changed.
Have a good day

Thanks @novarm44, my network drives are back!

I needed to uninstall, reinstall (not as Admin) and then reboot before they'd show.
